Sense Range: Move a Sensor

You can move a sensor if you want to disconnect the device from one hub and connect it to another.

You must be an Administrator to move a sensor. See User Roles for more details.

If you move a device, data recorded after the move will be added to the existing data record.

To move a device from one piece of equipment to another and start a new data record, see Reuse a Sensor.

This action is irreversible.

1. Log in to the Control Centre. 

2. Go to Automated Monitoring Devices >View/Edit.

3. Select the hub you want to disconnect the sensor from.

4. Click Maintenance.

5. Click the 3 vertical dots on the sensor you want to remove.

6. Click Remove Device.

7. Click Move.

8. Place the Magnetic Tag on the bottom-left corner of the sensor and hold it there for about 3 seconds. During this time, the Mode LED should flash green, then amber. Remove the Magnetic Tag after this sequence completes.

The Magnetic Tag is a small white magnet (see image 1).

Caution: The Magnetic Tag may interfere with pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs). Keep the tag at a safe distance from such devices

9. Click the right arrow to continue. You will see a message on screen stating 'Device identified'. Click the right arrow again to continue.

10. You will see a warning stating that ‘this operation cannot be undone once completed’. Click the right arrow to continue.

11. You will see a warning stating that ‘the device has been removed from the hub, and is ready to be assigned to a new hub’. Click the right arrow, then click the Checkit icon at the top centre of the screen to return to the homepage.

12. Reinstall the sensor on the desired hub.

When you reinstall the sensor, any rule and team that were previously assigned to the sensor will be carried over onto the new hub.
