Reuse a Sensor

You can reuse a sensor if you want to move it from one piece of equipment to another.

If you do so, historical data will be archived and you can reinstall the sensor.

You must be an Administrator to reuse a sensor. See User Roles for more details.

If you want to disconnect a sensor from one Hub and connect it to another, see Move a Sensor.

This action is irreversible.

  1. Log in to the Control Centre.

  2. Go to Automated Monitoring Devices >View/Edit.

  3. Select the Hub you want to disconnect the sensor from.

  4. Click Maintenance.

  5. Click the 3 vertical dots on the sensor you want to remove.

  6. Click Remove Device.

  7. Click Reuse.

  8. Press a magnetic tag on the bottom left corner of the sealed sensor/power unit battery as applicable for approximately 3 seconds. You will see a flashing green Mode LED. When the Mode LED turns flashing amber, remove the magnetic tag. See the animation on the right.

The magnet tag could interfere with heart pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs).

If you do not want to use a magnetic tag or you do not have one to hand, you can skip steps 8 and 9 and manually confirm the device instead.

To do so, click Manually confirm device, then enter the last 4 digits of the serial number on the back of the sensor.

The serial number is located on the back of the sensor in the following format: S/N: 0000-0000-0000-0000.

  1. You will see a message stating that the word ‘Archivedwill be added to the sensor name. Click the right arrow to continue.

  2. You will see a warning stating that ‘this operation cannot be undone once completed’. Click the right arrow to continue.

  3. You will see a warning stating that ‘the device has been archived and is ready to be reused’. Click the right arrow, then click the Checkit icon at the top-centre of the screen to return to the homepage.

  4. Reinstall the sensor on the desired Hub. See Install a sensor for instructions.
