You can now shorten the length of users’ PIN codes, making day-to-day tasks easier while still maintaining compliance. PINs are used to verify a user’s identity before certain actions, such as completing incident audits.
PINs can be set to 6, 7, 8, or 9 digits. Previously, all PINs were required to be 9 digits.
To shorten PINs, please contact us.
This setting is applied at the customer level, meaning it will affect all users across all sites and departments in your organisation.
One-time PIN reset
Once this setting is applied, all existing PINs will stop working.
All users will need to reset their PIN the next time they log in.
Users can do this themselves. It’s a quick and easy process—just click the “Reset PIN” button (see video 1) on the CAM+ website homepage (see Reset Your PIN for full instructions).
When creating a new PIN:
-
The PIN must be exactly the configured length
-
The PIN cannot be made up of the same digit repeated (e.g. 111111)
-
The PIN cannot contain sequential patterns (e.g. 123456 or 987654):
-
No more than 3 digits in sequence for 6–7 digit PINs
-
No more than 4 digits in sequence for 8–9 digit PINs
-
After resetting your PIN
Once users have reset their PIN, they can continue using the system as normal.
When completing an action that requires a PIN, such as an incident audit, users will be asked to enter 3 digits from their PIN as usual (see video 2).
