SenseFlex Range: Cloud Connector Connectivity
The Cloud Connector sends data to the Control Centre via the Internet.
It is available in two models:
Cellular & Ethernet
Ethernet Only
A white network icon will be illuminated on the front of the device, indicating that it has an Internet connection.
The Cloud Connector does not support Wi-Fi connection.
The back of your Cloud Connector will display whether it supports cellular connectivity.
If the Cloud Connector Loses Internet Connection
If the Cloud Connector loses Internet connection, for example, if the Ethernet cable is removed or there are network or firewall issues, a red network icon will be illuminated on the display panel.
If the Cloud Connector remains powered off for an extended period:
All sensors connected to the device will appear offline
Administrators and Safety Managers will receive multiple service alerts (see Cloud Connector Troubleshooting for instructions on how to resolve the issue).
By default, if a sensor is offline for more than 1 hour, a service alert will be triggered. If you would like to be notified sooner, see Edit Offline Alert Period.
While the Cloud Connector Is Offline
While the Cloud Connector is offline:
Sensors will continue to take readings and store the data in their internal memory
No subsequent sensor readings will be visible in the Control Centre
No sensor alerts will be triggered if a sensor goes out of range for more than its delay period
See Sensor Technical Specifications for details of sensor storage capacity.
When the Cloud Connector Is Powered On Again
When the Cloud Connector comes back online, the backlog of sensor readings will be sent to the Control Centre automatically.
If the backlog of sensor readings indicates that a sensor was out of range for longer than its alert delay period, a sensor alert will not be triggered. We only trigger sensor alerts from live data to ensure that alerts reflect a sensor’s most recent status.
